As he enjoys a summer break watching the action of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the MCG in Melbourne, Piastri also revealed he currently holds a priceless piece of cricket memorabilia.

From the tarmac to the MCG, Australian F1 driver Oscar Piastri continues to showcase his driving skills one way or the other, as the McLaren signee was seen driving the Buggy camera around the MCG in Melbourne on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test on Saturday.
Fresh off helping McLaren claim their first Formula One constructors championship in more than two decades, Oscar Piastri had a breakout season in F1, becoming just the fifth Australian to win an F1 Grand Prix when he led a McLaren 1-2 in Hungary before taking a second victory in Azerbaijan with an audacious move to overtake Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the dying laps.
Despite racing for McLaren, an English company, it is in representing the Australian flag that Piastri finds most comfort in.
“I do feel like I represent Australia when I’m driving, it’s a really cool opportunity and next year we’ll have Jack Doohan on the grid so it’s great to have another Aussie,” Piastri stated on Fox Cricket.
“Being in a British team it’s good fun there’s a lot of banter when the Ashes are on but it’s really cool to represent the country.”
Whilst conversing with the legendary AUS keeper Adam Gilchrist, it was also revealed that Piastri was a huge cricket buff, with the F1 driver being given the chance to take the steering of the Buggy cam of the broadcast channel.

“I wore [Brett Lee’s] playing shirt in the paddock last year after the boys won the World Cup,” he said.
“I’d wear it all the time if I could but Binga said it was the last one he ever wore so I’ll have to give it back at some point.”
