OnePlus is bringing the stable Android 15 update to the Open foldable phone in India which offers a slew of AI upgrades.
OnePlus Open foldable is already getting the stable Android 15 update this week. If you have bought the Open foldable in India, check if your device has got a new update alert. While users in India are now receiving the update in phases, it will be accessible in the Global (GLO), North America (NA), and Europe (EU) areas from next week onwards.
Brands like Samsung are taking their sweet time to roll out the new version, but you have OnePlus that is serious about the upgrades for its flagship device.
OnePlus said on November 24 that it would be releasing the stable version of OxygenOS 15, its most recent operating system (OS) update. And just a few days later the update is rolling out in select regions.
OnePlus Open Android 15 Update: What It Offers
OxygenOS 15 introduces graphic updates throughout the user interface, according to the company. It offers brand-new Flux Themes with one-take transition animations that may be personalised with images or system backgrounds. The always-on display, which supports both flux and classic modes, as well as the home and lock screens can be customised.
According to the company, users can alter the lock screen by selecting customising options, including glass textures, blurred wallpapers, AI depth effects, clock colour mixing, and AI auto-fills. The Live Alerts function has been redesigned and is now the main focus. Now, users can open a detailed card by tapping an alert capsule. A new animation system and design have also been included.
The array of AI functions available in the OxygenOS 15 update for the OnePlus Open is a significant component of the release. According to the company, it comes with an AI writing suite that can be used to improve and refine material. Format is an additional feature that helps arrange disparate pieces of information into a coherent whole. In the meantime, it’s said that OnePlus’ Clean Up tool makes voice notes clearer by eliminating filler words while preserving the original audio.
AI photo editing features are also included in the upgrade. According to OnePlus, customers may utilise the AI Reflection Eraser to enhance the lighting, colour accuracy, and sharpness of fuzzy images or upscale cropped or low-resolution photos with the new Clarity function. Moreover, there is a feature called Remove Reflections that is supposed to eliminate reflections on glass surfaces.
The new globally reversible picture editing feature, which preserves previous edit settings for later modifications, is another benefit available to OnePlus Open users. The company has also improved the camera-filter connection, enabling users to modify or remove filters at a later time, and increased the duration of Live Photos to three seconds.
The company also says that users may freely move files, including Live Photos, between OnePlus and iOS devices using the OnePlus Share app. Exclusive OxygenOS app icons, a battery safety alert, improved home screen widgets, a new easter egg in the Calculator app, and a new notification drawer split mode are some of the other features of the update.
