In another serious threat to the West, Putin ally Dmitry Medvedev urged Russia to work towards the “disappearance” of both Ukraine and NATO. Medvedev said Russia “must do everything so that Ukraine’s ‘irreversible path’ to NATO ends with either the disappearance of Ukraine or the disappearance of NATO.” Meanwhile, Poland is considering a proposal from Kyiv to shoot down Russian missiles heading towards Polish territory while they are still in Ukrainian airspace. A top former US official claimed NATO is unprepared to defend European countries because most of its defensive capabilities have been destroyed in Ukraine.
