Real Madrid who are under pressure to turn things around have been given a major setback with three key players being injured during the La Liga fixture against Osasuna.
Real Madrid suffered triple injury woes to add to their list of concerns as the likes of Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez and Eder Militao were all subbed off during the home game against Osasuna on Saturday.
In the 20th minute of the game, Rodrygo, who made his return to the side saw his game come to an end after he was seen holding his left hamstring, showing signs of concern. He was subbed out for Brahim Diaz as the Brazilian broke down in tears on the bench.
Just 10 minutes later, Eder Militao was down on the ground after a free-kick where he may have picked up an ACL injury after an awkward step. He was stretchered out of the ground and he was also visibly distraught by the situation. He was subbed out for Raul Asencio, an academy player who leads the Castilla side.
Madrid dominated most of the possession in the first half and Vinicius Jr opened the scoring with a near-post strike with Jude Bellingham getting the assist in the 34th minute. Eight minutes later, the Englishman also joined the scoresheet with a fine finish to open his tally in the domestic league.
Lucas Vazquez was the third player subbed off due to injury as Luka Modric came in his place.
Reports have suggested that Carlo Ancelotti is under pressure to turn things around after their poor start to the season. The side suffered successive defeats at home to arch-rivals Barcelona and Milan.
But Madrid showed signs of resilience with Vinicius scoring two more goals in the second half to get a hat-trick. Interestingly in one of the celebrations, the Brazillian was seen giving a hug to the manager in front of the crowds to showcase his support for the manager.
But it remains to be seen how Madrid will manage their injury concerns for the rest of the season. They also have other stars like David Alaba and Dani Carvajal who have been out of action for some time now.
One thing is for certain, even if Madrid have a poor season, they would not go down without a fight as shown in the stellar display against Osasuna.
