Hindus place tremendous emphasis on Saraswati Avahana’s religious and spiritual importance. Saraswati Avahana is calling the Goddess to one’s home or a pandal, adoring the idol with great devotion, and invoking her. To appease the Goddess, devotees sing spiritual songs and recite several Vedic mantras.

To obtain the Goddess’ blessings, people bring books, musical instruments and other equipment to the idol. Maa Saraswati is thought to offer gifts to her devotees who ask for her advice in school, music and all artistic endeavours.

Saraswati Avahana is carried out in the moola Nakshatra, an auspicious muhurat and nakshatra. The five-hour-long muhurat may change annually. Devotees set aside this particular time to honour Maa Saraswati by carrying out all of the goddess-related puja rites. To invoke the idol, some followers ask priests to conduct unique puja rituals.
