Shalini Passi opened up on the advantages she has and highlighted her passion for art, craft and photo series during her recent interview.

Shalini Passi has become the talk of the town ever since making an appearance in Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. The viral sensation recently sat down for a conversation wherein she made some honest confessions while also admitting that she is the last of the socialite. During the conversation, she opened up on the advantages she has and highlighted her passion for art, craft and photo series for which she would leave the house between 4.30 am and 5 am even during the pandemic.

In a conversation with The Indian Express, the art patron and philanthropist Shalini Passi said, “Yes, I am proud to be a socialite. The word used to have positive connotations in the 1920s, as somebody who used their power and influence to promote causes that mattered. They were great organisers of events. And I believe I am the last of them.”

Shalini Passi is aware of her advantages which include being born and married to the privileged. Her long-time friendship with the film industry only adds to those advantages as she noted, “I am a Lutyen’s child.” With the popularity that came after her Netflix show emerged as a successful hit, Shalini’s work of her foundation — a platform for emerging talent of arts, architecture, design and fashion also got the spotlight.

“Bollywood is a powerful medium. That’s why all of us girls worked hard for the show. I’ve worked so much more for so many other things in my life. But post-show, the donations keep coming in, it amplifies my work,” said Shalini Passi during the same conversation.

Reports suggest that Shalini has donated the earnings from her recently released show to her girl child education project in Bihar’s Purnia district. She has also been winning hearts for her unique brand of savoir foire.

As for her personal challenges, Shalini Passi suffers from thalassemia and also battles anaemia. To maintain her health, she sticks to a raw fruit and vegetable diet, ensuring no intake of sugar, carbs or caffeine. After her dinner at 6.30 pm, she steps out to spend some time with her friends. Speaking on her hobbies, Shalini added, “Yes, I paint, dance, scuba dive and sing, but only as hobbies. I am not an expert diver but I trained in cold waters in Delhi to hone my skills for the show. I am not an artist extraordinaire but just a patron.”

Shalini Passi got married to acclaimed businessman Sanjay Passi in the late 1990s and the couple is blessed with a son named Robin.
