Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is set to return to competitive action at the Brisbane International, slated to begin on the 29th of November after a prolonged time on the sidelines.

The Aussie maverick, who has managed to claim seven ATP titles on tour, has been restricted to the sidelines since the 2022 US Open, citing wrist and knee injuries that have proven troublesome.

The 29-year-old star has been part of just one ATP Tour match in more than two years as he took the field at the Stuttgart Open in June 2023.

He had a deep run at Wimbledon in 2022 as she made it to the final of the grass-court major before falling at the final hurdle against Novak Djokovic in four sets.

“Honestly, this is probably the best I’ve felt in two years,” Kyrgios said.

“I played that amazing year in 2022. Then at the finals in Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, that’s when I started feeling some issues in my wrist,” he continued.

“I had that wrist reconstruction and now I’m feeling amazing,” the 29-year-old added.

“I am feeling fit and healthy, and I am excited for my return to tennis,” Kyrgios also added.

“It has been a long journey of recovery to be where I am today,” the maverick reiterated.

Kyrgios also expressed that he had set his eye on taking part in the 2025 season of the Australian Open in front of home fans.

He is also slated to feature at the World Tennis League exhibition in Abu Dhabi scheduled to begin on the 19th of December, with multiple big names such as Iga Swiatek and Daniil Medvedev also set to battle in the Middle East.

Kyrgios pulled out of the 2023 edition of the Australian Open due to a knee injury that required surgery, before also having to withdraw from the French Open the same year due to an injury in his foot.
