Sinner, with his win against Paul, now becomes the only man this year to reach the quarter-finals at all four Grand Slams.

Italian Jannik Sinner has set up a face-off against his heated rival Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals of the 2024 US Open after putting away USA’s Tommy Paul in the round of 16 on Tuesday.

The World No.1 put away the American in three straight sets of 7-6, 7-6, 6-1 to set up his fourth duel with Medvedev over the past year.

Medvedev, the only former champion left after the defeats of four-time winner Djokovic and 2022 champion Alcaraz, is in the quarter-finals for the fifth time in six years.

Sinner, with his win against Paul, now becomes the only man this year to reach the quarter-finals at all four Grand Slams.

The Italian came back from two sets to love down to defeat the mercurial Medvedev in the Australian Open final and came out on top in the Miami semi-finals.

On the other hand, Medvedev triumphed at Wimbledon in a five-set quarter-final.
