WWE SmackDown Results, June 20: Chelsea Green, Carmelo Hayes Win MIB Qualifiers; Cody Rhodes Beat Solo Sikoa – News18

By Global News Today 4 Min Read

The latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown kicked off with CM Punk addressing his home crowd in Chicago. He went on to recall about July 2011 when Punk left his homeland as the WWE champion. That’s when Paul Heyman stepped up in the ring and spoke about his bond with Punk. The Bloodline appeared suddenly and tried to attack Punk. Cody Rhodes came out with two baseball bats and gave one to Punk, with Solo Sikoa blacking off immediately.

In the backstage, Rhodes met with Randy Orton and Kein Owens, who wanted to help him beat Solo. Rhodes, however, wanted to do it on his own and said that he had already planned everything. Following the opening segment, the SmackDown show played host to four matches including three Money in the Bank qualifiers. Let’s take a look at their results:

Money in the Bank Qualifier– Bianca Belair vs Chelsea Green vs Michin:

Bianca Belair and Michin both targeted Chelsea Green at the beginning of the fight. Belair tried to take the match outside but Green bounced back well and took down both opponents. Michin attempted a Frankensteiner on Belair, who immediately jumped outside. She returned with a German Suplex but was thrashed by Green, who also pinned Michin to secure the victory.

Money in the Bank Qualifier– Tama Tonga vs. Randy Orton vs. Carmelo Hayes:

Hayes and Tonga made a commanding start to the Triple-Threat match. They took Randy Orton outside and smashed him on the announce desk. Orton came back with a powerslam on Tonga and followed it up with a superplex on Hayes. The Viper then launched the double ‘Vintage Orton’ to take down both opponents. Tonga Loa then caused a distraction which helped Hayes get the pin on Orton.

Money in the Bank Qualifier– Kevin Owens vs. Andrade vs. Grayson Waller:

The Bloodline attacked Kevin Owens before he could reach the ring. He was ultimately saved by Randy Orton. Andrade dominated the match before Owens dished out a tower of Doom and followed it up with a Swanton. Waller attempted a cutter on Andrade but he reversed it to clinch the win.

Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa:

Cody Rhodes welcomed Solo Sikoa with some brutal strikes and threw him onto the steel steps. The Tongans turned up and tried to attack Rhodes. That’s when the referee called off the match as Rhodes won it via disqualification.
