Redmi Note 14 could see a major design change from Xiaomi
Xiaomi is bringing its popular lineup another model in the form of the Redmi Note 14 series that could get a big design change and some hardware tweaks.
The Redmi Note 14 series is set to be launched in China next week. Xiaomi teased the design of the new models while also highlighting their build quality in a social media post. These smartphones, succeeding the Redmi Note 13 5G series, come with a revamped camera module. The four-camera setup features a squircle design, unlike the previous generation. Following its tradition, Xiaomi is expected to launch three models in the new series– Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro and Redmi Note 14 Pro+.
The company shared a couple of images of the new models on Weibo suggesting that the new lineup will be launched between September 23 and September 29. The larger one seemed like the Pro+ variant which features a 50MP camera with OIS. The main camera comes with an f/1.6 aperture. The module also has a 60mm f/2.2 mid-focus lens.
The other handset should be the Note 14 Pro. It also has the same 50MP AI camera with OIS. This variant is unlikely to feature a telephoto lens. The third camera may have a depth sensor which will be essential for macro photography. The camera island in the Pro+ model has a glass cover while in the other phone, camera units protrude from the module.
According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 14 series has got a major upgrade in terms of its built quality. The new devices have IP68-rated builds, enabling more dust, water and drop resistance. Every variant of the 14 series has passed several rigorous tests. Reportedly, they have been chosen as the official handset of the Blue Sky Rescue Team– China’s largest private rescue force.
Rumours suggest that the company has continued with the plastic frame for the Note 14 series. The Pro model is claimed to have a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC processor and features a 1.5K dual-curved screen. This handset as well as the other variants of the series will run Android 14.
As per a report by GizmoChina, the Note 14 Pro+ will support 90W fast charging and has acquired the 3C certification. The previous models, Note 12 and Note 13 Pro+ have 120W supported fast charging which means there could be a drop in the speeds for the newer model.
