PM Modi In Kuwait: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday landed in Kuwait on a historic two-day visit where he will hold several key meetings, including an address to the Indian diaspora. This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in 43 years.
In a humble gesture that underlines how the Prime Minister connects to the common man, he agreed to a woman’s request to meet a 101-year-old IAF officer upon his arrival to the Gulf nation.
Social Media User Makes Request To Meet Her Grandpa In Kuwait
Shreya Juneja had urged PM Modi on Friday to meet her 101-year-old grandfather Mangal Sain Handa, an ex-Indian Foreign Service officer, stating that he is the Prime Minister’s “great admirer”.
“Humble request to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi to meet my 101-year-old Nanaji, ex-IFS officer, in Kuwait during tmrw’s interaction with the Indian Diaspora. Nana @MangalSainHanda is a great admirer of yours. Details have been emailed to your office,” she tweeted.
PM Modi responded to the tweet, “Absolutely! I look forward to meeting @MangalSainHanda Ji in Kuwait today”.
Upon his arrival, he met and greeted Mangal Sain Handa.
Getting a response from the Prime Minister on her X post, the user said that he has won their hearts “once again” and her grandfather is overjoyed.
“It’s an honor to receive a response from you, sir! You’ve won our hearts once again. Nanaji @MangalSainHanda is overjoyed, and his smile means the world to us. We’re deeply grateful for this kind gesture,” she said.
Notably, the Prime Minister had extended best wishes to the former IFS officer when he turned 100 last year. Mangal Sain Handa had thanked PM Modi on X for special birthday greetings to him.
“My heartfelt gratitude to our hon’ble @PMOIndia @narendramodi for sending his kind wishes on my 100th birthday. It has been worth living for 100 years to witness India grow under his leadership & continue the stride,” he had posted on X.
