Bigg Boss OTT 3 has brought contestants from diverse walks of life. Among others, rapper Naezy or Naved Shaikh has sparked a lot of interest among viewers lately. Neazy recently opened up about the struggling periods in his life. While having a candid conversation with other contestants, Neazy talked about the time when the film Gully Boy, which was loosely based on his life, was being made and how he was arrested on false charges.
In conversation with his co-contestants, Sana Makbul, Ranvir Shorey and Armaan Malik, Naezy stated, “Ek movie ban rahi thi, jo mere baare mein thi, aur main bahut powerful banne wala tha. Isi dauran main gayab ho jaata hun (A film was being made on me, and I was going to become extremely powerful. During this moment, I abruptly disappeared).” He also mentioned that people got concerned about him and constantly enquired about his whereabouts. Ranvir Shorey, who was curious, questioned what happened to him.
Naezy shared, “Mereko andar le liye the prison mein. Kyunki main zyada bada banne wala tha, powerful banne wala tha, toh jo jealous log the system mein, jo log ko mujhe bother karna tha unlog ne kiya (They took me into the prison. Because I was going to get famous and more powerful, those jealous people in the system did it).” Furthermore, Naezy alleged that he was charged with different offences and served a year in prison. In addition, he stated that neither his parents nor anybody else knew where he was.
Naexy also stated that there were rumours that he was in Dubai, but finally he came back home and everyone was quite emotional. He, however, stated, “My life was spoiled after that one incident. I could not get to that peak again in my career.”
The rapper admitted that while the film Gully Boy gained him a lot of attention, it also had a negative impact on his mental health. He stated that people failed to understand that although the main character in the film was based on him, most aspects of it were fictionalised. Gully Boy starred Ranveer Singh as the lead, with Alia Bhatt and Sidhhant Chaturvedi in major roles. The Zoya Akhtar film was inspired by rapper Divine along with Naezy.
