Ronaldo, who has become the butt of a running joke regarding his inefficient free-kick conversion rate, shut all the doubters up as he netted a wondrous dipping strike to the bottom corner of the opposition goal, netting his 899th goal of his career.

But, he also etched history with his strike today, as Ronaldo became the first footballer in the history of the sport to score a goal from a free-kick for 23 consecutive seasons.
Since making his professional debut for Sporting Club de Portugal in 2002, Cristiano Ronaldo has netted a freekick in each of his seasons for 23 years back to back, a feat no player has achieved ever.
The former United and Madrid man shall add this to his list of achievements, adding to his previous feat of becoming the first player to score in 23 consecutive seasons earlier this season.
The good news for Al Nassr only continues as a 39-year-old Ronaldo, who also recently released a new YouTube channel that is nearing a total of 50 million subscribers, stated that he shall be looking at possibly retiring from the beautiful game in the next 2-3 years, and that he shall be more inclined do so with Al Nassr themselves.
“I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years… but probably I will retire here at Al Nassr. I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue,” Ronaldo was quoted as saying in an interview with NOW, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Despite his seemingly successful personal spell at the Saudi outlet, Ronaldo has been in the midst of a so-called unlucky streak with Al Nassr, failing to clinch any major silverware so far.
The Portuguese star has finished as a runner-up in four competitions with Al Nassr — the Saudi Super Cup, the King’s Cup, and twice in the Saudi Pro League — and remains in the hunt for his first major title with the Saudi side.
