Payment and Refund Policy

This Payment and Refund Policy was last updated on 04 October 2026.

Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers

This policy applies to all payments made for access to Course A, a professional resource dedicated to studio production in motion. It covers studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound waves, and creating smooth high-quality workflows for television news and live shows. The policy governs purchases of digital courses, subscriptions, and related services provided by flashstory to customers in the United Kingdom. It does not cover physical goods or services provided by third parties.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes, and Any Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. Prices include value added tax where applicable under UK law. Additional charges may apply for premium features or extended access periods. flashstory reserves the right to adjust prices with prior notice. Customers are responsible for any currency conversion fees imposed by their payment provider.

Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation, and Payment Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and approved digital wallets. Payments are authorised at the time of purchase. All transactions are processed through secure third-party gateways compliant with UK data protection standards. flashstory does not store full card details. Authorisation may be declined if fraud is suspected or if billing information does not match records.

Order, Booking, or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed

A contract is formed when you receive a confirmation email after submitting payment details. This email confirms receipt of your order and outlines the services purchased. Access to Course A materials is granted immediately upon successful payment unless otherwise stated. You must review all details before completing the transaction.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase for most digital services. Cancellation within this period entitles you to a full refund if you have not accessed the content. Services that begin immediately may have limited cancellation rights. Notify flashstory promptly via the contact form on the Contacts page to exercise this right.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions, and Non-Refundable Items or Services

Refunds are available for unused subscriptions cancelled within the cooling-off period. Access to completed course modules, downloaded materials, or promotional bundles is non-refundable. Refunds are not provided for changes of mind after the cooling-off period or for services already substantially performed. Promotional offers may carry separate eligibility rules detailed at purchase.

The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact flashstory using the form on the Contacts page or email [email protected]. Provide your order number, full name, purchase date, and reason for the request. Include any relevant transaction reference. Incomplete requests may be delayed. Requests must be made within the applicable time limits.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection, and Notification of the Refund Decision

flashstory will review each request within 10 working days. You will receive notification of approval or rejection by email. Rejected requests will include reasons such as prior access to content or expiry of the cooling-off period. You may appeal a decision once by providing additional information.

Refund Method, Processing Time, and When Funds Should Reach the Customer

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing typically takes 5 to 14 working days after approval, though bank processing may extend this. You will be notified when the refund is issued. Chargeback fees may apply if refunds are pursued through your bank instead of directly with flashstory.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services, or Promotional Offers Where Relevant

Digital content such as video tutorials on camera operation and lighting becomes non-refundable once streaming or download begins. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Promotional discounts apply only to the initial term and do not extend to renewals. Early termination of annual subscriptions may incur a pro-rated adjustment rather than a full refund.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks, and Suspected Fraud

Failed payments must be resolved within seven days to maintain access. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded automatically where verified. Chargebacks without valid grounds may result in account suspension. Suspected fraud leads to immediate payment hold and reporting to relevant UK authorities under the Data Protection Act and PECR.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the Target Country That the Policy Cannot Exclude

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, or the Data Protection Act 2018. You retain rights to goods and services of satisfactory quality and to remedies for faulty digital content. Nothing in this policy excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud. Contact the Citizens Advice service for further guidance on your rights.
