The Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium turned a bit chaotic in the first half itself as, Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund was engaged in a heated clash with Kyle Walker, and the United man got the last laugh.

The moment unfolded in the 39th minute when Hojlund stumbled onto the ground following an aerial challenge by the Manchester City defender. Hojlund was visibly frustrated as he angrily approached Walker. The duo went head-to-head and during the confrontation, Walker was thrown onto the turf. Initially, it seemed Hojlund might have headbutted Walker but VAR confirmed no violent act was involved there.

The referee showed a yellow card to both the players for the spat.

To the fortune of Hojluind, Manchester United pulled off a stunning comeback in the away game to secure a 2-1 victory. Once the match was finished, Rasmus Hojlund dropped a cryptic post on Instagram, seemingly referring to Kyle Walker’s play-acting.

Hojlund said that Walker should be awarded “an Oscar” for how he feigned injury during the Machester derby. The Danish footballer shared a picture of the on-field incident and wrote– “Manchester is red; Violets are blue; What a brilliant performance; But the Oscar goes to…”

Manchester United legend Roy Keane was also left fuming at Kyle Walker. Keane feels Walker should be embarrassed for what he did to potentially get Rasmus Hojlund booked. The former Irish midfielder might not have expected such a gesture from an experienced player like Walker.

When asked if Hojlund deserved a red card for his act, Keane sarcastically said in the Sky Sports studio, “Yeah, to Walker! You don’t mind a bit of this in the game, a bit of argie-bargie, of course. He’s obviously been blocked but Walker…of course it’s a foul. It’s a free-kick and Hojlund’s not happy, that’s fine,” as per Mirror.

“But then he goes over and how can Walker [go down]. Walker must be embarrassed. He must be embarrassed to go down like that – an experienced player. I don’t know the guy, but I’m embarrassed for him. It’s embarrassing,” he added.

Josko Gvardiol gave Manchester City a lead in the first half. The scoreline remained unchanged till the 88th minute when Bruno Fernandes scored a penalty, bringing United back into the contest. Amad Diallo struck the winner for the Red Devils in the dying moments of the game to complete the comeback.
